TecTecTec is a family-owned manufacturer of affordable laser rangefinders that is headquartered in France. It was started in 2014 by Renan Lore, an industrial engineer, who wanted to build a company that provided great customer service and high quality, affordable products by eliminating the middle man.
There are many similarities between the TecTecTec ULT X, VPRO500, VPRO500S, VPRO DLX and VPRO DLXS. Each of these golf laser rangefinders weighs about 0.41 pounds (or 6.53 ounces) and their physical dimensions are 4.1 (width) x 2.8 (height) x 1.6 (depth) inches so all of these units will be lightweight and comfortable to carry around.
The TecTecTec ULT X is one of the best affordable rangefinders for golf because it has an outstanding 450 yard range to flagsticks and vibration confirmation after flag lock.
They are all really easy to use and they all come with 6X magnification, continuous scan mode, multilayer coating, and diopter adjustment functionality, which will give anyone who is either nearsighted or farsighted a clear view of the flag. Also, all the units come with a rainproof (water resistant) body. Only the TecTecTec VPRO DLXS and ULT-X are waterproof. These golf rangefinders also come fully equipped with a free CR2 battery, wrist strap, microfiber cleaning cloth, quick start guide, and a premium carrying pouch that safeguards the rangefinder against impact and poor weather.
If you want more accurate distances to the pin, then you should purchase the Bushnell Pro XE, Bushnell Tour V5 Shift, Garmin Approach Z80 or Bushnell Hybrid laser rangefinder instead.
Differences between TecTecTec ULT-X vs VPRO500S vs VPRO500 vs VPRO DLX
• TecTecTec VPRO500 vs VPRO500S – Both the TecTecTec VPRO500S and VPRO500 are accurate to 1 yard and have the same 150-yard range to flags, 540 yard maximum range and 6X magnification power. Also neither will vibrate after flag lock. The only differences between the TecTecTec VPRO500 and VPRO500S are that only the VPRO500S has slope compensation technology but the VPRO500S is 17% more expensive than the VPRO500.
• TecTecTec ULT-X vs VPRO500S – Both the TecTecTec ULT-X and VPRO500S have slope compensation technology and 6X magnification power.
One difference between the TecTecTec ULT X and VPRO500 S is that the ULT X has Target Lock Technology while the VPRO500S has Pin Seeker Technology. The ULT X has a 450 yard range to flags while the VPRO500S has a 150 yard range. The ULT X has a 1000 yard range to hazards while the VPRO500S has a 540 yard range. Also the ULT-X is accurate to 0.3 yards for distances up to 300 yards while the VPRO500S is accurate to 1 yard.
Another difference is that only the ULT-X vibrates after flag lock and has an external slope on/off indicator. However, the VPRO500S is smaller so it is easier to hold in your hands and it is 30% cheaper. The TecTecTec VPRO500S is ideal for anyone on a budget who just wants reliable distance readings.
• TecTecTec VPRO500 vs VPRO DLX – Neither the TecTecTec VPRO500 or VPRO DLX have slope compensation but the VPRO500 does have a lower price tag than the VPRO DLX and the DLX has a longer range and waterproof body instead of a water resistant body.

TecTecTec VPRO500 vs VPRO500S
Like the TecTecTec VPRO500S, the VPRO500 has the same maximum measurement range to a flagstick (200+ yards), maximum range to large objects (540+ yards), measurement accuracy (+/- 1 yard), magnification (6X), physical dimensions (4.1 x 2.8 x 1.6 inches) and weight (or 6.53 ounces).
There are only two differences between the TecTecTec VPRO500 and VPRO500S. The main difference between the TecTecTec VPRO500 and VPRO500S is that only the VPRO500S has slope compensation. It will adjust distances for uphill and downhill shots which you can turn off anytime you want to make it compliant with USGA rules and legal for tournament play. The second difference between them is that the TecTecTec VPRO500 has a cheaper price tag than the TecTecTec VPRO500S.
TecTecTec VPRO500 vs VPRO DLX
The main differences between the TecTecTec VPRO500 and DLX are that the VPRO500 has a lower price tag than the VPRO DLX but the DLX has a longer range (VPRO500: 540 yards vs VPRO DLX: 600 yards) and waterproof body (the VPRO500 is only water resistant, or rainproof).
TecTecTec ULT-X vs VPRO500
The main differences between the TecTecTec VPRO500 and ULT-X are that the VPRO500 is much cheaper but only the ULT-X has vibration flag lock and slope compensation that you can turn off by using the highly visible faceplate and the ULT-X has a longer measurement range (VPRO500: 540 yards vs ULT-X: 1000 yards) and better accuracy for distances up to 300 yards (VPRO500: +/- 1 yard vs ULT-X: +/- 0.3 yards). The switch is a highly visible faceplate that you pull out when you want to turn on the slope feature and push in when you want to turn it off.
TecTecTec golf rangefinder measurement modes
All TecTecTec devices, except for the TecTecTec ULT X, come with three different scanning modes that are really easy to use: NORMAL Mode, Pin Sensor Technology (First Target Priority) and Continuous Scan Mode. Instead of Pin Seeker mode, the ULT X has target lock technology which allows it to lock onto a flag up to 450 yards away and hazards or large objects up to 1000 yards away. Align the reticle with the target and press the POWER button to display the distance measurement after target acquisition.
NORMAL Mode – Use the default normal mode when you want to quickly measure the distance to a target when there is not very much in the background. This mode is easy to use because all you have to do is aim the rangefinder’s crosshairs at the target and just press the power button on top for target acquisition. The display will tell the distance of the target either in yards or meters.
PIN Seeker Mode – lets you accurately measure overlapping targets which is ideal for measuring the distance to the pin that has woods in the background. This mode senses the pin (flagstick). To use the pin seeker mode, look through the eyepiece and focus the rangefinder on an object behind the flag. Press and hold the power button and slowly sweep the rangefinder over the flagstick.
TLT (Target Lock Technology) – Only the TecTecTec ULT X golf laser rangefinder has target lock technology that will lock onto a flag up to 450 yards away and hazards or large objects up to 1000 yards away. This Target Lock Technology locks onto the nearest target which eliminates the possibility of falsely measuring the distance of any object behind the pin.
Scan mode – useful for giving you instant distance measurements one after the other for any of the hazards on the course. Press and hold the power button for 8 seconds while sweeping the rangefinder from target to target. Scan from object to object for continuous distance measurements. The display will show continuous distance measurements.
Review of the TecTecTec ULT X Rangefinder
The TecTecTec ULT X rangefinder is the best TecTecTec golf rangefinder because it is the only one that will vibrate after flag lock and it’s Target Lock Technology gives it the longest range to flags (450 yards) and large objects, such as trees, sand bunkers, and water hazards located 1000 yards away.
There are many differences between the TecTecTec VPRO500, VPRO500S, VPRO DLX, VPRO DLXS and ULT-X. One big difference between these units is the slope measurement feature. Slope Compensation is meant to adjust the yardage based on uphill or downhill incline (slope).
Only the TecTecTec VPRO500S, VPRO DLXS and ULT-X come with Slope Compensation
Only the TecTecTec VPRO500S, VPRO DLXS and ULT-X come with TecTecTec’s patent pending PinSlope slope compensation technology – This slope compensation technology calculates the elevation-adjusted distance to the target for either uphill or downhill shots. Pinslope will display angle-compensated distance, or elevation, in addition to the same direct distance that the Pin seeker mode will give you.
This comes in handy when you are hitting an approach shot into an elevated or depressed green, as the displayed yardage compensates for the elevation change and lets the user know to adjust his or her club selection accordingly. This mode works the same way as the Pinsensor mode but the display will show you additional data.
Only the TecTecTec ULT-X comes with a Visible Slope On/Off Indicator
Unfortunately, the TecTecTec VPRO500S and VPRO DLXS do not come with a visible switch to turn off the slope mode but you can use the mode button to shut off the slope so that you are able to use these devices in tournaments. Luckily, the tectectec ult x comes with a visible slope on/off indicator for turning off slope mode.
Faceplate: This golf rangefinder has a highly visible faceplate that ensures that your rangefinder is tournament legal. The tectectec ult x is really simple to operate. All you have to do is pull the attached faceplate into place to turn off the slope feature. When the yellow part of the body is exposed, that means the slope feature is on. When you push the faceplate toward the device, the slope feature is turned off.
Only the TecTecTec ULT-X rangefinder will vibrate after target lock
This golf rangefinder is the only TecTecTec laser rangefinder that vibrates after the target lock technology locks onto a target.
TecTecTec ULT-X rangefinder has the longest range
It is the only TecTecTec device to instantly catch flags at up to 450 yards and hazards at up to 1000 yards.
Accuracy: This golf rangefinder comes with the latest optical technology which will enable it to give you the most accurate measurements from the furthest distances. The ULT-X gives you the most accurate measurements of any TecTecTec with an unprecedented accuracy of ± 0.3 yards at distances of up to 300 yards, ± 0.5 yards at distances of up to 600 yards and ± 1 yards at distances of up to 1,000 yards.
2-Year Warranty: All of the TecTecTec golf laser rangefinders come with a 2-year warranty if you register your device online on this webpage: Rangefinder Warranty Registration.
