The first thing to do is to remove the battery cover near the back of the device and insert the CR2 3V lithium battery into the empty compartment with the positive side facing out.

How do you take distance measurements with the TecTecTec VPRO500 laser rangefinder?
Normal mode is great for shots that are fairly close or straightforward. You have to aim the front end of the device at an object such as a tree, flagstick or sand bunker. Then press the power button and hold it down until a stable distance reading appears on the LCD screen. In order to find the distance to another object, simply aim the laser at it and then press and hold down the power button.
Scan mode
Scan mode is great for examining terrain and planning difficult shots to the hole when the flagstick is surrounded by background objects or when conditions are less than ideal.
