Garmin Approach G10 Handheld Golf GPS Review
The Garmin Approach G10 Handheld Golf GPS has all of the basic features that any golfer would expect to find including front/center/back distances to the greens and distances to the front and back of the hazards, layup markers and doglegs. It also includes a scorecard and stat tracking. Unfortunately, it does not have the more advanced golf features including color maps, slope compensation, and blind shot assistance.
The best Garmin handheld device is the Garmin Approach G80. The second best is the Garmin G8. The Garmin Approach G80 is better than the Garmin G8 because it has a larger display, higher resolution and comes with a launch radar. The G10 will only display the shapes and layouts of the greens but will not show you detailed graphics of the fairways, bunkers, water hazards and greens the way the G8 and G30 do. However, the G10 will display the front/middle/back distances to the greens, layup and carry distances to the hazards, and distances to doglegs and 250, 200, 150, and 100 yard layup markers.
