The Callaway golf rangefinders are as fast and accurate as the best budget friendly golf rangefinders on the market, including the Precision Pro NX7, Blue Tees Series 3 Max and Series 2 Pro golf rangefinders. Except for the Callaway 200, all of Callaway’s other rangefinders come with slope compensation. The Callaway 300 Pro has also seen some upgrades recently with the addition of an internal magnet and vibration confirmation.
There are many similarities between the Callaway 200, 300 Pro, EZ, Micro Prism and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders. Each of these inexpensive golf rangefinders weighs between 4 and 8 ounces and are only 4 inches long and 3 inches high so all of these units are lightweight and will fit comfortably in your hands. Most come with 6X magnification, multilayer coating, and diopter adjustment functionality which will give anyone who is either nearsighted or farsighted a clear view of the flag. Also all of these rangefinders come with a rainproof body. These Callaway golf rangefinders also come fully equipped with a free CR2 battery and a premium hard case.

Callaway 200 vs 300 Pro
Both the Callaway 200 and 300 Pro have the same measurement accuracy (+/- 1 yard) and magnification power (6X). However, there are many differences between the Callaway 200 and 300 Pro. The main differences between the Callaway 200 and 300 Pro are that only the 300 Pro has slope compensation, the 300 Pro has a range to flags of 300 yards while the 200 has a shorter 275 yard range, and the 300 Pro has a range to highly reflective objects of 1000 yards while the 200 has a shorter 800 yard range. However, the Callaway 200 has smaller physical dimensions coming in at 3.75 x 2.8 x 1.6 inches while the 300 Pro is a little larger coming in at 4.25 x 3 x 1.75 inches and the 200 also weighs only 4.4 oz. while the 300 Pro weighs a little more coming in at 7.0 oz. On the other hand, the Callaway 300 Pro is more expensive than the 200.
The slope feature is handy for uphill and downhill shots and you can turn it off anytime you want to make it compliant with USGA rules and legal for tournament play.
Callaway 300 Pro vs Hybrid GPS
Both the Callaway 300 Pro and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders have the same maximum measurement distance to the flagstick (300 yards), maximum measurement distance to hazards or large objects (1000 yards), measurement accuracy (+/- 1 yard) and magnification (6X). There are a lot of differences between the Callaway 300 Pro and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders. The Callaway 300 Pro is much cheaper than the Hybrid GPS and only the Callaway 300 Pro comes with a slope compensation feature that you can turn off anytime you want. However, only the Hybrid GPS comes with a GPS unit with preloaded course maps and distances to greens and hazards.
Callaway 200, 300 Pro, EZ, Micro Prism and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders all come with 3 scanning modes: All Callaway laser rangefinders come with three different scanning modes: Standard Mode, P.A.T. (Pin Acquisition Technology) and Scanning Mode. Align the reticle with the target and press the POWER button to display the distance.
Standard Mode – Standard mode is for measuring the distance to a target when there is nothing in the background. This mode is easy to use because all you have to do is aim the rangefinder’s zero-in aiming square at the target and just press the power button. The measurement distance of the target will be shown at the top of the LCD display either in yards or meters.
P.A.T. (Pin Acquisition Technology) Mode – Measures the distance to a flagstick or smaller object. A flagstick icon will appear on the left side of the LCD display when P.A.T. mode is activated. To use this mode, look through the eyepiece and focus the rangefinder on an object behind the flag. Press and hold the power button and slowly sweep the rangefinder over the flagstick. The rangefinder will then lock in the nearest target and the display screen will show you the distance measurement. This mode eliminates the possibility of falsely measuring the distance of an object behind the pin. You can switch between the standard and P.A.T. modes by pressing the mode button.
Scan mode – This is used to measure distances to multiple targets in succession. To use this mode, you will have to hold down the power button. This will cause the laser indicator box to flash and the laser will continuously fire. The distance measurements will change as you scan from target to target. It is useful for giving you instant distance measurements one after the other for any of the hazards on the course.
Differences among the Callaway 200, 300 Pro, EZ, Micro Prism and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders
There are many differences between the Callaway 200, 300 Pro, EZ, Micro Prism and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders. One big difference between these units is the slope measurement feature. Slope Compensation is meant to adjust the yardage based on uphill or downhill incline (slope).
Only the Callaway 300 Pro Laser Rangefinder comes with Slope Compensation: Only the Callaway 300 Pro Laser Rangefinder comes with slope compensation technology which calculates the elevation-adjusted distance to the target for either uphill or downhill shots. Pinslope will display angle-compensated distance, or elevation, in addition to the same direct distance that the Pinsensor mode will give you. This comes in handy when you are hitting an approach shot into an elevated or depressed green, as the displayed yardage compensates for the elevation change and lets the user know to adjust his or her club selection accordingly. This mode works the same way as the Pinsensor mode but the display will show you additional data.
Only the Callaway 300 Pro and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders come a BIRDIE feature that delivers an audible “chirp” to confirm distance acquisition to a flagstick: The Callaway 300 Pro and Hybrid GPS Laser Rangefinders are the only Callaway rangefinders that come with audible chirp flaglock technology which causes the device to emit an audible chirp after it locks onto the flag.
No Slope Switch Technology: Unfortunately, the Callaway rangefinders do not come with a visible switch to turn off the slope mode like the Bushnell rangefinders do but you can use the mode button to shut off the slope so that you are able to use these devices in tournaments.
