Bushnell Pro X2 vs Pro XE
Both the Bushnell Pro XE and Bushnell Pro X2 have slope compensation. The main difference between the Bushnell Pro X2 and Bushnell Pro XE is that the X2 only adjust distances for slope while the XE can adjust for slope, temperature and altitude. Also the XE has 7X magnification while the X2 has 6X magnification and the XE has a 500 yard range to flags while the X2 has a 450 yard range. Further, the XE has vibration and visual flaglock confirmation while the X2 only vibrates after flaglock. More information about the differences and similarities between the Bushnell Pro XE and Pro X2 is listed below:
1. Bushnell Pro XE can compensate distances for slope, temperature and altitude while the Pro X2 can only compensate distances for slope. You can enable the elements (temperature and barometric pressure) calculations by pressing the mode button on top of the device. The slope is the elevation change for uphill and downhill shots.
2. Bushnell X2 has a 6X magnification power while the XE has a higher 7X magnification power.
3. Bushnell XE can calculate the distance to flags up to 500 yards away while the X2 has a shorter range of 450 yards.
4. Bushnell Pro XE will vibrate and a red ring will flash on the viewfinder after the rangefinder locks onto the flag while the Pro X2 will only vibrate after flag lock.
5. Only the Bushnell Pro XE has a BITE magnetic mount that allows you to easily attach the Pro XE right on the cart bar.
6. Bushnell Pro X2 is accurate to a 1/2 yard for distances up to 125 yards while the Pro XE is accurate to only 1 yard.
7. Bushnell Pro XE is more expensive than the Pro X2.
However, both the Bushnell Pro XE and Pro X2 have many features in common including:
1. Bushnell Pro XE and Pro X2 both have the same maximum range to highly reflective objects of 1300 yards
2. Both have the same accuracy of +/- 1 yard for distances greater than 125 yards
3. They are the only Bushnell golf rangefinders that allow you to switch between a crisp black display or bright red LED display with easy-to-read red-colored readings
4. Both have a waterproof metal housing

Bushnell XE vs X2 vs Hybrid vs V4 Shift – Differences and Similarities
Bushnell Pro XE has the most accurate compensated distances because it takes into account the slope, temperature and adjusted altitude – All of the other Bushnell rangefinders only take into account the slope or elevation changes on the course and do not factor in the temperature or barometric pressure.
Only the Bushnell Pro XE comes with PinSeeker with Visual JOLT – The visual JOLT is a red ring that flashes on the viewfinder as JOLT vibrates to give the golfer better confidence that the device has locked onto the flag.
The Bushnell X2 has better accuracy than the Bushnell XE, Hybrid or Tour V4 Shift – The Bushnell Pro X2 is accurate to +/- 0.5 yards for distances up to 125 yards while the Bushnell Pro XE, Hybrid and Tour V4 Shift have a measuring accuracy of only +/- 1 yard for the same distances.
The Bushnell XE and X2 have a longer maximum measuring distance to highly reflective objects than the Bushnell Hybrid or Tour V4 Shift – The Bushnell Pro XE and Pro X2 have a maximum measuring distance to highly reflective objects of 1300 yards while the Bushnell Hybrid and Tour V4 Shift have a maximum measuring distance of only 1000 yards.
The Bushnell XE has a longer maximum measuring distance to flags than the Bushnell X2, Hybrid or Tour V4 Shift – The Bushnell Pro XE has the longest maximum measuring distance to flags of 500 yards whereas the Bushnell Pro X2 has a maximum measuring distance to flags of 450 yards and both the Bushnell Hybrid and Tour V4 Shift have a maximum measuring distance of only 400 yards.
Pro X2 is the only Bushnell golf rangefinder with E.S.P.2 (Extreme. Speed. Precision. 2nd generation) – E.S.P.2 is Bushnell’s advanced second generation ranging technology that provides the fastest, most accurate ranging measurement based on target conditions and is only found in the Bushnell Pro X2 but not found in the newly released Bushnell Pro XE (released in February 2019). The E.S.P.2 feature automatically assesses the conditions and improves the measurement up to 1/2 yard accuracy and, in some cases, up to 1/10th yard when measuring from 5 to 125 yards. You can disable the E.S.P.2 feature if you want your distances only displayed as a whole number.
The Bushnell Pro XE, X2 and Tour V4 Shift all come with a visible slope switch on/off indicator – The Bushnell Pro XE, Pro X2 and Tour V4 Shift all come with a visible slope switch on the side of the device that enables anyone to slide the switch left or right to turn on or off the slope function. When the slope function is turned off, the slope switch will reveal a red color which can be easily seen by tournament organizers so that your device becomes legal for tournament play.
Only the Bushnell Pro XE and X2 come with a bright Red LED Display – You can press the Mode button and the Dual Display Technology will switch between a bright red vivid LED display with readings in red color which are very easy to read or crisp black display with readings in the typical black color. The Red Digital Display Technology is different from the traditional Transmission Display LCD screen. This device integrates the advanced technology of Emission Projection Display (EPD) which will solve the problem of not seeing the readings from the rangefinder in darkness. It comes with excellent optics light transmittance which will make the image clearer and shows easier to read data on the red display.
Only the Pro XE and X2 come with a metal housing that is waterproof – On the other hand, both the Bushnell Hybrid and Tour V4 shift have a water resistant plastic housing which means they can be used in rainy conditions but cannot be submerged underwater.
